Research and Education Organizer

Position Overview (apply below):
We are seeking a Part-Time Researcher and Education Organizer to join our team. This role involves conducting historical, cultural, and community-based research, assisting with the development of educational programming and materials, and supporting community outreach and organizing efforts. The position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct historical, cultural, and community-based research that aligns with the organization's mission.

  • Assist in developing educational programming and materials that engage diverse audiences.

  • Support community outreach initiatives and assist with organizing community events and activities.

  • Participate in relevant meetings, events, and planning sessions to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in history, education, African American studies, sociology, public humanities, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community-based research, public education, organizing, or program development.

  • Strong skills in research methodology, data collection, analysis, and community storytelling.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering educational programs, workshops, or curriculum for diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas for public audiences.

  • Passion for public history, community empowerment, and inclusive education.

Employment Classification:

  • This is a part-time, non-exempt position, requiring 20 hours per week.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Office or Remote: Employee may work from the office or remotely, based on the supervisor’s needs and directives.

  • End Date: Employment is anticipated to end on August 30th, 2025, unless extended.
