The Christiansburg Institute Smokehouse Museum is a replica of one of Christiansburg Institute's early 20th century buildings. The replica structure was constructed by the Christiansburg Institute Alumni Association in 1988 to house the Alumni's artifact collection. The museum was updated in 2018.
The museum houses a collection of artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia that tell the story of Christiansburg Industrial Institute, as well as African American history in Southwestern Virginia.
The CI Smokehouse Museum will soon be open to the public with weekly scheduled open hours. It is currently open upon appointment. Contact us to schedule a visit.
